I was recently privileged to learn Torah with two remarkable Jewish scholars on the innovative “Madlik” podcast, hosted by Geoffrey Stern and Rabbi Adam Mintz. Moved by his love of the Jewish tradition, the former enrolled in a Hassidic yeshiva and subsequently was educated in philosophy and economics at Columbia University. He now carries his love of Judaism with him in his various successful entrepreneurial endeavors. The latter is a well known scholar and pulpit rabbi to Modern Orthodox congregations, including his service as the Senior Rabbi of Lincoln Square Synagogue in Manhattan. He is now dedicated to the cause of a more open, egalitarian Orthodoxy. We had, I believe, a stimulating and provocative conversation about how Karl Popper’s philosophy of science might cast light on that week’s Torah parsha, “Korach,” a subject explored in Chapter 5 of my book. A link to this video is provided here.

Mark – It was an absolute delight to learn with you, hear your journey and discuss Korach, Shamai & Hillel, Karl Popper and Paul Feyerabend! It also was a thrill to find a kindred spirit and such an eloquent advocate of pluralism and liberalism in Judaism. Looking forward to the next time.
The pleasure was all mine! And, I corrected the link for Rabbi Mintz, thank you.
